We are a small engineering and software company that owns programmes end to end, which means the people here work across boundaries rather than inside one. This page lists anything we have open, and there is nothing open at the moment. If that changes it will appear here first.
What it is like
A programme here runs from the first specification to a machine working on a site, and the same people carry it across. Mechanical, controls, software and the person who has to supervise the result are not separate projects with separate owners.
Decisions are made close to the work rather than passed up a structure. What you design is what gets built, and you are there when it is commissioned and when it comes back with something wrong.
Most of what we take on is a requirement no catalogue product answers. That means prototypes, things that do not work first time, and the discipline of proving something before it is manufactured rather than after.

There are no open positions at the moment.
We only advertise a role when there is a real one to fill, so this list is empty more often than not. When something opens it is posted here, and this is the only place we post it.
If you want to be considered anyway, write to info@factorizer.uk. Speculative applications are read. They are more useful to us than a form would be, because they tell us what you have actually built.
What we look for
Formal qualifications are read, but they are not the thing. What we look at first is what you have built, what went wrong with it, and what you did about that. If the honest answer to a question is that you have not done it before, say so; most of this work is done by people doing something for the first time carefully.
We hold ourselves to the same terms we require of everyone who supplies into our work: lawful and voluntary employment, no forced or child labour anywhere in the chain, and the freedom to raise a concern without penalty. They are set out under conditions of doing business with us.
Applying
Send what you have: a CV, a portfolio, a repository, drawings, a description of a machine you built. Tell us which part of it was yours. We would rather read one thing in depth than a list of everything you have touched.
What you send is used to consider you and nothing else. We do not pass it outside Factorizer Ltd, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to the same address. The privacy policy sets out how long we keep it and what your rights are.
No vacancy, still interested
There is nothing open at the moment, but a good speculative application is kept on file and read again when something does open. Write to us with the work rather than with a covering letter about it.
