Accessibility statement

Our aim

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. That means the site should be usable with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, at high zoom, and with animation switched off.

What is built in

• Semantic HTML structure with one main landmark and a skip-to-content link.
• Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, including inside the graph.
• The interactive graph on the home page can be operated with the arrow keys as well as a pointer, and carries a text description of the flow it shows.
• Motion respects prefers-reduced-motion: the animated signal pulse is switched off entirely rather than merely slowed.
• Body text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel viewport.
• Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.

What we have not verified yet

This is an honest list rather than a claim of completeness. As of the date above we have not yet completed:

• Testing with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver.
• A full automated and manual contrast audit of every component state.
• Testing at 400 per cent zoom on every page.
• An independent accessibility audit.

Until those are done we cannot claim full conformance, so we do not. This statement will be updated when each item is complete.
